Golden Turmeric Latte
Golden turmeric paste:
1/4 cup turmeric powder (or 1/2 cup turmeric root peeled and chopped)
2 tablespoons finely grated ginger root
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp good quality vanilla extract
1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
Optional extras: cardamon, anise or nutmeg
If using turmeric root, place into blender with ginger root and 1/2 cup of water. Blend well.
Combine all the ingredients (except coconut oil) in a small saucepan. Whisk continuously over a medium heat until it starts bubbling.
Reduce to a low heat and continue to whisk continue to whisk for 3-4 minutes until you have a smooth paste. Remove from the heat, add the coconut oil and whisk well.
Place in a small clean glass jar.
Store in the fridge for 2 to 3 weeks.
To create your individual golden turmeric latte
1 teaspoon golden turmeric paste
3/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup coconut cream
Choose your favourite cup (I prefer drinking from a thin china mug then a thicker ceramic mug)
Place paste into cup, add boiling water and top with coconut cream, sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon. Stir and sit back and enjoy.
