Anita Bhikha-Willan

With a passion for travel, my kiwi spirit took me on my travels England, where I worked as a pharmacist in hospitals in England. I combined working and travelling for a couple of years.

After suffering a bad stomach bug on the last days of trekking in Nepal I returned  to New Zealand where the use of antibiotics helped clear up the initial infection but triggered a series of digestive issues. With my pharmacy knowledge I wasn't getting better, I was only just managing to hide the symptoms (Think bad flatulence and the a blind date...). Luckily, I managed to have a naturopath help me to find my food intolerances and heal my gut. My symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome were passing a lot of bad smelling flatulence (and I mean bad!), needing to know where the closest bathroom and this caused a lot of anxiety and stress.

This experience lead me to retrain as a naturopath, so I could help people who may be suffering and not getting the help they need. Sensitivities and intolerances can be caused by foods and things in our environmental. These all add to the stress on our bodies (and we all have enough daily stress without these too!).

Symptoms associated with food and environmental sensitivities:

  • Loose bowel motions

  • Eczema

  • Anxiety

  • Fatigue

  • Weight gain - especially that puffiness

  • Skin breakouts or rashes,

  • Sore joints or muscles

  • Plus more
